Very Oaty Overnight Oats

I've recently discovered the wonder that is Overnight Oats. Mr Hatter and I have been having various incarnations of this for breakfast for the past couple of months - it's easy to prepare, tastes great, and is so versatile! You can just throw in whatever ingredients you have lying around and it will still turn out as a tasty breakfast when you stumble bleary-eyed out of bed the next morning.

I used Oatly's "The Original Oatly Oat Drink Ambient" for this recipe, but you could use any you fancy. The first time I tried this in a jar, I ended up with a clump of chia seeds so you really do need to make sure you shake it well.

This is a basic recipe which you can adapt as you see fit...

Very Oaty Overnight Oats

Serves 1

1/3 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds
2/3 cup Oatly oat-milk (hence the "very oaty" but feel free to use another plant-based milk if you want it less oaty)
1/4 cup blueberries
1 tbsp agave nectar (or maple syrup, or whatever else you feel like using...)

1. Grab a one-portion-size jar - I use an old jam jar that I have cleaned and kept.

2. Throw all the ingredients into said jar.

3. Screw the lid on tight. It must be tight!

4. SHAKE! (The jar... shake the jar...)

5. Leave in the fridge overnight.

6. Open and enjoy!

  2. I must try and remember this recipe, it would be excellent to take into work - some days I start really early and its compact, so pretty cool. I have just picked up some Oatly milk too and hope to try it out soon.
