I was planning on writing a few blog posts this weekend, what with it being a 4 day one, but life got in the way (as usual). Well, when I say "life", I mostly mean "chocolate, computer games, and Netflix". Hey ho, what else are bank holidays for?!

Anyway, on to this month's box from The Vegan Kind!

The Foods of Athenry Cookie Shots Bite Size Brownie Biscuits
Considerit Chocolate Cream Egg
Hectares Red Onion and Black Pepper Sweet Potato Crisps
Wheaty Red Hot Chilli Pepper Spacebar
Vegan For The Animals Magnet

The Foods of Athenry Cookie Shots Bite Size Brownie Biscuits

These gluten free goodies were really tasty. They had a great crunchy texture with a brownie-like taste. At only 18 calories per mini cookie, I don't even feel bad about eating them!

Considerit Chocolate Cream Egg

I love Considerit Chocolate. Give me anything by this company and I will gladly eat it. I was secretly hoping for another TVK/Considerit chocolate combo box for Easter so I was pleasantly surprised when box 29 arrived with one of their delicious cream eggs! It tasted how I remember non-vegan cream eggs tasting, but it's been a long time since I had one to compare!

Hectares Red Onion and Black Pepper Sweet Potato Crisps

Red Onion and Black Pepper is the new flavour at Hectares. They make very tasty sweet potato crisps and these are no exception. Even Mr Hatter enjoyed them and he's not usually a fan of sweet potato crisps.

Wheaty Red Hot Chilli Pepper Spacebar

We first discovered Wheaty when we visited VegFest London way back in 2013! Since then I have been buying their spacebars regularly, as they are available close to work and they're an easy protein filled snack to pick up on my lunch break. I usually end up with the Chorizo flavour (as that's usually the only one available), so it was nice to have the Red Hot Chilli Pepper for a change. If you like mock meats, I can whole heartedly recommend Wheaty. Their salami slices are amazing!

Vegan For The Animals Magnet
Choose Compassion Go Vegan Sticker

I like it when we get little treats in our boxes from The Vegan Kind! This magnet is now proudly attached to the fridge, and the sticker is on the back of one of my clipboards!

I'm not a coffee drinker at all, so Mr Hatter tested this one on his own. He doesn't drink a lot of milky coffee, usually preferring to take it black. Unfortunately, he wasn't a fan of this drink, saying that it still tasted too much like soy milk, despite the coffee. (He's not a fan of soy milk either!)

This month's recipe card is a delightful creation from The Whole Ingredient - Carrot Cake Macaroons. They look and sound delicious!

This month's charity is SNORS (Special Needs Older Rabbits Sanctuary). They offer sanctuary for rabbits with complex health problems, providing them with a loving home for the rest of their days. They will receive 10p from each box sold.

Mad Hatter's Events You May Have Missed...

I realised that there are quite a few pictures that I have from last year which I never got around to showing you all. Rather than write separate posts for all of them, I'm going to give you a taste here (although there are some more that will get their own posts!).

Fondant Cake Toppers

These little guys were so much fun to make. They are based on the murlocs from World Of Warcraft, only in black, white, and silver to match the cake they were going on. And cats!

Murloc Army!

Cute Wedding Cupcakes

The happy couple wanted some simple lemon and chocolate cupcakes with small flowers - nice and simple! (I didn't make the wedding cake in the picture.) Those bags at the back of the table were all full of vegan sweets - fantastic!

Winterfest was the winter version of The Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival. Unfortunately, the weather that weekend was horrendous, with floods cutting off a lot of the public transport routes into Leeds. We still had a good time though, and Leeds Town Hall is a great festival venue.

  Steampunk Surgical Spirit

Leeds Steampunk Market at Thackary Medical Museum was another one hit by the bad weather, but it was fun making the cupcake decorations!
