June Food Round-Up

I've decided that I'm going to try to do a round-up at the end of each month about any new vegan food I've discovered. Sometimes I find that I just don't have time to blog about every new thing I try - although I do try to post them all on Instagram, so if you like a quick fix of photos then come join me here.

Graze Cocoa & Vanilla Protein Flapjack

I had tried some Graze flapjacks in my non-vegan days but since going vegan haven't had any as they all contain butter... until now! This fancy flapjack was totally butter-free - yay! It was super tasty too, so I'll be looking out for it next time I want a quick snack.

Propercorn Smooth Peanut & Almond Popcorn

I'm a big fan of Propercorn, so when I saw this in Boots, I had to try it. It had a lovely nutty flavour - I was determined to get all the flavour bits out of the packet when I finished the popcorn! I just wish all their flavours were vegan!

Eating Out:

Primos Vegan Hotdog

I went to Primos in Leeds Corn Exchange for the first time recently and I will definitely be going back. Just look at this beauty! "The Garden State" is vegan, so long as you choose vegan toppings. It's a tofu hot dog in a white hot dog bun with your choice of 3 toppings. The vegan topping selection isn't huge but it's enough. I picked caramelised onions, pickles and guacamole. I also chose to "double down" my hotdog, which meant I got two tofu sausages! Yummy!

Nasi Lemak Seitan Chicken and Sweet Potato Fries

This was soooo tasty. Nasi Lemak are one of the current traders over at Trinity Kitchen in Leeds. These vegan chicken pieces are scrummy and the sweet potato fries are great. It comes topped with salad and spicy sauce which rounds the dish out nicely. Get yourself over there and try some before they leave in August!

Unless - Hardcore Vegan Catering Baked Cheesecake

I apologies for the crappy photo but I couldn't not include this as it was AMAZING. This as the only sweet thing I bought at Yorkshire Vegan Festival, as I'm usually all caked-out by the time we actually get to the festival. But I saw so many people walking around with these and it just looked so good that I had to try it. This was my lunch!

Eating At Home:

Bierocks from Vegan Sandwiches Save The Day by Celine Steen & Tamasin Noyes

I was really impressed at how these bad boys turned out. The filling is a mixture of tempeh, cabbage, onion, etc and it's encased in a beer-based dough. Yum!

BKT Bowl from Salad Samurai by Terry Hope Romero

I'll admit, I included this picture so I could show off my new salad bowl - it's huge! This isn't the first time I've made this salad but it is very very tasty, so I think it deserves a mention!
