Vegan Life Magazine - Issue 26 (May 2017)

I read this whole issue of this month's Vegan Life Magazine cover to cover within a few days of downloading but am only just getting around to writing the blog post - oops!

I really enjoyed this issue. I found the new format for the April issue (which I never got around to blogging about...) a little awkward but it seems a lot better with the May issue. To be fair, it could just be that my phone didn't download it properly last month!

This month brought some really interesting articles, ranging from information about Britain's one of most endangered animals, the Hazel dormouse, to a big piece about how threatened the dairy industry feels by the vegan movement (yes!), to an article about living a zero-waste life, to an article about Simon Amstell's recent film, Carnage. I must admit, I didn't read the article about Carnage as I haven't seen it yet and don't want to spoil it!

My wanderlust has been ignited again by the article about the "Elephant Nature Park" in Thailand. I love visiting new places and would really like to go on an extended travelling adventure, but that's not currently practical. Maybe some years down the line we can have a "travelling phase" as our mid-life crisis!

This magazine also tends to highlight somewhere closer to home that I would like to visit - mainly for food! Waterside Cafe in Kendal is this month's feature, and it looks amazing. Mr Hatter and I were actually in the Lake District for a couple of nights over Easter but we stayed around the Ambleside area, and didn't venture over to Kendal. We would both love to go back though - it really is a beautiful part of the country. (Blog to follow soon... ish... about our trip to the lakes!)

The final place that this month's magazine has made me want to visit is the Philippines! It's not somewhere I would have imagined had a thriving vegan scene, but reading the article it sounds like you can find some great food out there!

As always, there was a whole host of mouthwatering recipes... These are just a few of the ones I've put on the list to try...
